About me

Hi. I’m Melissa. Having grown up in a large family, (2 brothers, 2 sisters, me and my niece) I find it easy to relate to children of all ages. I know all about having to have that security blanket, the kissing of boo-boos, and yes, even the clubhouse rules. As a kid, I loved art; I always had a crayon in my hand and was very cautious about not going over the lines of a coloring book. To me, art was and still is a form of expression even though, at times, I was caught expressing on the walls. Sorry, mom.

As I got older the crayon turned into a pencil, the pencil turned into a camera.  My love for art led me to study photography in high school and eventually, college. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography, with a strong focus on portraiture at East Carolina University.  My work reflects the characteristics of a child: vibrant, colorful, and spontaneous. Having these same qualities is what will make my photography just right for you.
