FAQs
What is included in the session fee?
The session fee ($150) covers up to 2 children, each additional child is $25.00. The session fee includes 1 to 3 hours of photographing in the Raleigh/Durham/ Chapel Hill area, and an online proof presentation of 20-30 post-processed images.
Where is your studio located?
Since I am an on-location photographer, I've got the whole world as my studio. Your session can be in your home or in the great outdoors.
Can I purchase a high resolution CD?
You are eligible to purchase the CD when purchasing Portrait Collection B or Portrait Collection C.
Where did you go to school for photography?
East Carolina University.
Are you married?
YES! The man of my dreams happens to be Doug. We have been married for 3 wonderful years.
Do you have any children of your own?
Not at this time. I am just enjoying my 8 nieces and nephews and my 2 great-nephews.
How long have you been photographing children?
4-5 years.
When should I book my appointment?
If you are interested in a maternity session, try to book while you are between 7 and 8 months. If you are interested in a newborn session, go head and book towards the end of your pregnancy.
What is the best age to photograph newborns?
6-10 days.
What to wear?
The best advice is to keep the clothing simple by avoiding anything with loud patterns and large written logos. You want the eye to draw the child's expression, rather than the outfit. And you don't want your photos to look dated, but timeless. My favorites are bright colored outfits and bare feet, for children. For newborns, I prefer that they not wear anything. This will show off their baby curves. For mom and dad, have black shirts handy when doing a newborn session. I may need to use you for a backdrop.
What if it rains?
If it is an outdoor session, I will reschedule your session as soon as possible.
What kind of camera equipment do you use?
Canon 5D Mark 2 digital camera
Why do you charge as much as you do?
I take many things into consideration when coming up with pricing. My education, my creativity, my time to scout locations, my time to personalize your shoot, my time photographing and post processing, the cost of my equipment and travel expenses.
